Mormons?

If you are Christian, then why do you carry a Mormon Supplement? Are you a Mormon? We have been asked this so many times and felt a much needed explanation is long over-due.

Are you Mormon?
No. Here at HSTreasures we are not Mormons.

What is a Christian?
I think most would agree that a Christian is someone who is walking in a relationship with the Lord, has accepted the death sacrifice of Christ's shed blood for their sins on the cross, believes that Jesus rose from the dead, believes that they have been forgiven, have confessed with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, and are saved or born-again according to John 3:3. We can also glean from the Bible that we shall know them by their fruit.

Are Mormons or Catholics saved?
Who are we that we know or judge the hearts of men? How do we or can we know what relationship ANY one has with the Lord? Is it impossible for a Mormon or Catholic to be born again or saved? No. Not impossible.

Mormons or Catholics are not Christian.
For us or someone else to make this statement or believe this clearly means that we (they) have been "told" or taught that Mormons, Catholics, and maybe others, are not Christian or that they are not saved. Let us consider that if our definition of what a Christian is does not include anyone outside of our own religious circle or our own belief system, it is not based on the Bible's definition, and we cannot know the heart of any man, then maybe we should keep quiet.

The Bible tells us all things are possible with God and many times he doesn't fit into our belief system, or spiritual boxes. I believe He is much bigger that any one of our boxes; the box of "our own understanding". The box of our limitations; regarding our faith, healing, what we've been told/taught or whatever. We can so easily place Him in a box without realizing what we are saying or doing. "You shall know them by their fruit". It doesn't say we shall know them by their denomination or by their religious affiliation.

Is there a preacher/teacher in your religious circle or denomination that you do not agree with verbatim?
Sure, you will find differences in interpretations in every denomination. Do we agree to disagree and love them anyway? Of course. Point being, not all Mormons or Catholics believe every word verbatim that proceeds out of the mouth of their teachers either.

I have witnessed such a hateful and ugly attitude towards people of different religions, particularly toward Mormons and not very long ago, from a certain "christian" yahoo group. This group was not only not Christ-like and not yielding the fruit of any righteousness, but were at times, cruel and evil. They will reap their rewards for what they have sown. God have mercy on us all. Can we not walk in love? Can we not find areas that we do agree on and love people where they are? With LOVE we will lead people into the kingdom of God. How many are walking around as a "sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal" ... walking around showing our ignorance, lack of maturity, lack of fruit and the lack of our own personal relationship with the Lord. I would say if for fear, or lack of security in one's own faith, would cause them to stumble, then yes, they need not "witness" to anyone about their own beliefs, outside of their own religious circles until they are founded in the Word of truth themselves. We do not have to alter our beliefs or our faith to love people who believe differently than we do. The cool thing is some times there are not really that many differences. We are all God's creation, we all need Him, and most importantly we all need to be around people who love us and will encourage us to walk in truth, love, and draw closer to Him. When true, honest hearts are truly seeking Jesus, they do find Him.

We have made this call, and will make it again; If any Catholic would be willing to work with us to help contribute to create a Catholic supplement and there is enough interest, we'd love to offer it too. Having quotes for copy work from the Pope, Sister Teresa and others would be nice to have. I'd also love to include a book, "My All for Him" by Basilea Schlink, a Catholic believer. It is one of the most inspiring books I have read. No one of a sound mind, would dare say this woman is not a Christian after reading her book.

So can we, or rather, WILL we ... walk in love? I'd say don't walk, or better yet, don't talk to anyone about what you believe if you cannot first love them or die for them. I will not even go into "righteousness as filthy rags" and many other good sermons that come to mind. Not all Mormons or Catholics believe what you have been told they believe. In Jesus name and in HIS service, please leave the judging of Catholics and Mormons, and everyone else for that matter, to God alone.
