Would you purchase books that had the following as the advertisement?
"Christians and Non-Christians alike, enjoy the new spell bounding books designed to introduce your children to divination, guided imagery, witchcraft, the occult, and magical powers. Teach them how to cast spells early in life. If parents can stir their interest and curiosity now, they will be well on their way to active participation in their local occultic organizations and will learn to enjoy all aspects of evil and demonic activity."
Although fictious, the advertisement above is very accurate concerning the popular Harry Potter Series of books that has hit the market by storm. Consider for starters the following scriptures which identify the problem with these Potter books.
"Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts."-- Nahum 3:4
"... for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived." -- Rev. 18:23
According to Revelations 21:8, those who practice sorcery will have their
place in the lake of fire. Should we be alarmed? We should be very alarmed and on guard. For this is a religion. It is an attack on our children and on our homes and families. They are being proselytized with great magnitudes on the back of "Let's get our children to read more" and "Let's get them reading something interesting." Do we really want the world to teach our children witchcraft, or rather shouldn't we let the Bible teach us and them, IF that is the interest? Even the author claims she is inspired by God. Are you sure which god she is referring to? In fact, we know, satan is the god of this world. (2 Cor.4.4)
Give No place to the devil.. Eph 4:27
Be not ignorant of satan's devices against you.. 2 Cor. 2:11
Most Believers are ignorant of satan's devices because they know very little about their enemy and do not see the connection between witchcraft, sorcery, the occultic and satanism. Many do not have a clue when it comes to using their weapons of warfare, or even that there is a real war going on in the spirit realm. A war, which is, in fact, more real than what is seen in the physical realm. I am not suggesting a thorough study in demonology.. however, we cannot resist, nor protect ourselves and our families in ignorance regarding this danger. The Bible says that God's people perish for lack of knowledge, not to mention the sufferings in this life they bring on themselves by giving place to it in their homes. One cannot believe in "blessings" without believing that there are "curses" as well. To believe that the devil is not alive and well and actively seeking whom he may devour, would be the same as not believing that there is a God or what He has said about it. Why not instead, teach our children about the miracle working power of the Holy Spirit?
Satan reproduced three of the plagues upon Egypt. He has power and does perform miracles. Also consider the curse that was brought upon the camp of Israel and their families because Achan took and hid something in his tent that the Lord considered an abomination.--(Joshua 7:21-25)
We are to avoid All appearance of evil. --1 Thes. 5:22. The cover and descriptions of these books alone should bear witness in our spirit against it.
"Keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing.." - (Joshua 6:18) Few people, even Christians do not know what is accursed. Many churches do not teach its members how to deal with the enemy and how he operates.
USA TODAY reports: "You don't have to be a wizard or a kid to appreciate the spell cast by Harry Potter."
