God's Financial Abundance

As we cover each of the keys above let us remember that the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. He is Lord of all and doesn't need our money. We are responsible to give unto good ground, generally the storehouse which is commonly where we receive our spiritual nourishment, usually the church we attend. Tithing is a command, not a suggestion. If we do not tithe, we are walking in disobedience.

#1 We must be faithful. We are people of faith. If your excuse for not tithing is that you mistrust the use or disbursement of your tithes, you have two choices. The first would be the need to repent from any judgment you may have toward the people in charge, repent for not praying enough for them, pray more for them and accept the fact that any use or misuse of funds is God's problem with them period. We should never be found in the company of the accuser of the brethren, regardless if the facts are true or not. The other choice is to tithe faithfully somewhere else.

God challenges us to "test and try" Him in the third chapter of Malachi where we receive instruction on what the tithe is. Test and Try Him that He would open the windows of Heaven and pour out a Blessing that there will not be room enough to contain. (Mal.3:10) Some will say, "Well, that was the Old Testament and not relevant for today".... NO, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. The difference between the Old and New Testament is that the New Testament provided us with a greater covenant and the New Testament also fulfilled the Old Testament. We will never find God's word contradicting itself. If we think we find contradiction, then the lack understanding wherever the contradiction exists.

#2 Completely & Cheerfully,  we give unto God and not man. Tithing is a spiritual act. It is not as much for the church or God as it is for us. If we honestly and completely release the tithe it shouldn't matter to us what becomes of it. It is God's business what becomes of it. It is very possible that He would lead us to give elsewhere by joining/attending a different church. It will never be God's will for us to withhold the tithe or bicker, complain or dread releasing it.

If our income is $1000 per week and we cheerfully give the $100, but when a big bonus, profit sharing, or any extra money comes our way through another source and we have difficulty or refuse to tithe on that amount, we are walking in a hindrance of God's supernatural abundance. Will God still bless you and meet your needs? Sure! But it is the little foxes that spoil the vine and many times the little things that are the difference between enough and "more than we can contain."

If He can't trust us to be obedient on an extra $5,000, then why should He trust us with $500,000 extra or even 5 MILLION extra?

Tithing is a spiritual discipline whereby WE see and God sees if we can be faithful and trusted with money.

#3 Treat Money Like Candy. It is the love of money that is the root of all evil. People who do not read their Bible enough often misquote this scripture. Money is NOT the root of all evil. It is the LOVE OF IT wherein the problem lies. Do we love candy, mints, or gum? Do we not give it away freely and cheerfully to someone who wants or needs a mint? When we endure conversation with someone who has bad breath, do we not offer it freely even if they do not ask for it? When we see or hear of a need, can we freely and graciously give if it is money instead of gum or a mint? I think many of us love money a little more than we realize or it could be we are a bit more selfish that we care to admit. Would we be quicker to say or think that man or woman needs a breath mind badly before we would say that man or woman needs a financial blessing? When God sends them our way, or we hear of a need, will we freely give what they are in need of?

#4 The Rich get Richer ... and we say, "Oh well, God rains on the just and the unjust," or "They are just lucky." No doubt it grieves the Lord when He has to pass over many of His own children to pick an ungodly one to give or meet a need, or further a cause. The Rich get richer because most give and give generously and God blesses them even more because His word is true to all. He is no respecter of persons. They are not lucky. They are walking in God's supernatural abundance. The word "luck" is nowhere in the Bible. Luck is a word that should never be used by any person of faith. It is a term used to give something else credit and glory for blessings instead of giving the credit and glory to God where it belongs. The rich walk around in God's supernatural abundance and yet many of God's people walk around from paycheck to paycheck. Believers, God's people should be the wealthiest people on earth!

#5 Saving Money to be saving money IS NOT scriptural. In the parable of the talents we find the guy who hid, tucked away his talent was a big loser and the Lord took away what he had and gave to another. Investing money is clearly God's way for us. A savings account may be a bit better than hiding it under a mattress, in your home somewhere, a piggy bank or a safe deposit box, but for many people having a savings account is NOT being a good steward and another hindrance to their supernatural abundance. Let me explain. If a couple has a savings account of $3000 earning 4-6% interest and yet they also have a credit card with a balance of $1000 or ANY amount and are paying 8-12% interest on that debt, how can they possibly rationalize that as being a good steward?

Planting a seed of investment to be left alone to grow is one thing, left to grow in God's hand is the ultimate best, but even the word " saving" has a hint of doubt and unbelief in it. WHAT ARE WE SAVING FOR? I'm not talking about putting some away this week and next week for on the following week we should purchase something in mind. But just saving to be saving without any purpose or goal in mind that could be for " emergencies" or for a "rainy day" smacks far too much dependence on self and less and less dependence on God. Either HE WILL MEET all of your needs according to His riches in Glory or maybe He will meet just some of your needs, (as much as we will allow Him that is), because after-all we do have our "savings" to fall back on. Many of us miss the "according to His riches" because we rely on our piddly riches just in case. Stewardship and money management is a huge topic on its own that needs to be studied by every believer -- Bible-based teaching of course.

#6  Confession Hindrance. If we believe that we receive what we pray for, (Mark 11:24) we should not contradict our prayers, sounding double minded by making statements like ... "We can't afford that, we don't have any money, I'm broke, etc." We should not lie, but rather say we are not going to spend the money on this or that right now. Replace the word "cannot" with "am not." All things are possible with God. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. God's word should be hid in our hearts that our thoughts line up with what we pray and what His words says and not what we see. "Believe and ye shall receive" is contrary to "seeing is believing."

Sadly, but many secular teachings regarding money are practiced by believers and the Church everyday and they have limited what God CAN and WILL do for them. If they would only allow Him to and if we would only remove the earthly hindrances, mindsets, and bad confessions we speak. God's people should be walking in supernatural abundance all the time! We should pray and ask the Lord to reveal any hindrances that prevent us from ALL of His blessings. Where does He want us to plant our seeds? What is His direction and management plan for our finances? His purpose in trusting us with our money is that He may trust us to give where it is needed, where He directs. He wants us to be a walking blessing to others that they may also walk in His supernatural abundance. When we give someone money, pay a bill for them, or meet a need they have, it is because we serve the Lord. He is lifted up and He will draw all men unto Himself. The old saying that we cannot out give God is true, but how many of us have even tried? Dare to obey, dare to test and try Him that you will see how He will bless you with more than you can contain. You can and will walk in His supernatural abundance stage!
